We recently completed a complex driveway project at 715 Byron Ct, Deerfield, IL. The customer required additional parking space, but their property presented a unique challenge due to a steep drop-off on one side. To address this, we installed a 5 ft tall retaining wall to support the new driveway extension.

Engineering and Construction

This project required special civil engineering and wall construction to support the heavy load at such heights. Kaplan Paving installed a structural segmental retaining wall with clean stone fill and geo grid for base stabilization. Proper drainage was also incorporated to ensure the wall’s stability, particularly in Chicago’s freeze-thaw winter climate.

Outcome

The job turned out great, and the client now has the additional parking space their family desperately needed. This project is a testament to Kaplan Paving’s ability to handle challenging paving and construction tasks with precision and expertise.
